From building race cars and retail construction sales in Tucson, Arizona to designs in metal in Strong, Maine, AK Designs has become a labor of love for Art and Karen Crouse. Art spent over 25 years building sprint cars and midgets in Southern Arizona all the while working as Transportation Supervisor for Tucson Electric Power. Karen spent over 20 years in retail construction sales in Tucson. Which is how they met, married and eventually moved to Maine to "live life as it should be".

Many vacations were spent in Maine looking for the perfect moose napkin holder to take back to their"LL Bean" room in Tucson. Not finding any,and getting pretty worn out looking for one year after year,  Art made Karen one for Christmas one year. The rest is history!

Now, 13 years later, they do so much more than that first moose napkin holder.
